Solo Bivouac, NEW ZEALAND
Four years ago, Ferdinand Van Schelven and I crossed the south island of New Zealand from south to north. 30 days of bivouac on the most spectacular landscape.
Tomorrow, I’ll be off to NZ for 4 weeks, on my own and in total autonomy. I’ll start at Queenstown and cover as much distance as possible, getting lost in the deep wilderness. After my climbing accident in Greece last October, I feel the need to find myself again, reconnect with my limits and build my strength. New Zealand is the ideal destination for that. I will take this opportunity to keep training for the upcoming Red Bull X-Alps and gain lots of flying hours. I will need to go very light, taking with me: my Nevada 2 Light, my strike from Sup’Air, a fly-fishing rod and a packraft lent by my mate Luc from Pac and Raft, http://www.packandraft.be/
I will probably have low internet access, but I will publish my stories whenever I pass by a town.
